Foreign Students: Internships for MA Students or PhD Candidates

Through an internship at Centro Las Libres, MA students and PhD candidates have the opportunity to learn about women’s rights in Guanajuato. In addition to working on an independent project that benefits the organization, interns may be asked to assist director Verónica Cruz Sánchez in diverse aspects of the work of Centro Las Libres. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• administrative work
• translation
• communication with English-speaking organizations and individuals
•assistance in weekly workshops and community activities
•managing donations
•designing and writing the biannual newsletter
• grant writing

Each intern is responsible for securing his/her own funding, as this internship is unpaid. Through this work, the intern will gain a well-rounded and comprehensive picture of the work of Centro Las Libres and the political and social context in which it operates.

Eligibility:
--Currently pursuing a MA Degree or PhD in a field relevant to the work of Centro Las Libres
--Bilingual (Spanish/English)
--Available to work at least six months
--All prospective interns must submit a detailed project proposal in Spanish.
